GPT-5.7 "Zinc"

GPT-5.7 "Zinc" is the expected flagship tier of OpenAI's GPT-5.7 family - deeper reasoning, longer horizons, built for hard multi-step work. Expected soon, and Magnus adds it to the model roster the day the API is live.

Status

Expected soon. OpenAI has not announced a release date. The GPT-5.6 series shipped as named tiers (Sol, Terra, Luna), and 5.7 is expected to follow the pattern with Zinc at the top of the family.

What to expect

The flagship tier is where OpenAI ships its deepest reasoning: longer autonomous runs, harder problems, more headroom for multi-step work. Benchmarks will be added here when OpenAI publishes them - we do not reprint pre-launch rumors as numbers.

Availability on Magnus

When the API goes live, Zinc appears in the model picker for OpenAI keys and on the All-inclusive plan without any action on your side. Credit pricing will be set from the published API price at launch.

  1. Open Settings and pick OpenAI as your provider (it is included in your plan).
  2. When Zinc appears in the model picker, select it - existing agents keep their history when you switch models.
  3. Watch What's New and the changelog - every roster addition is announced there.
