# Terminal & MCP Access

> Connect Claude Code, Cursor, or any MCP client to your Magnus account with a personal access token - chat, goals, documents, and reminders from the command line. This URL is the MCP endpoint itself.

## One-click connect (OAuth)

Point any OAuth-capable MCP client at `https://getmagnus.co/mcp` - Claude.ai custom connectors, Claude Desktop, and others discover the OAuth server automatically, sign you in in the browser, and connect with no token to copy. Approve the consent page once; revoke from your MCP client any time.
The endpoint implements the MCP authorization spec: RFC 9728 resource metadata, RFC 8414 server metadata, RFC 7591 dynamic client registration, and PKCE (S256).

## Setup with an access token

1. **Create an access token.** In the Magnus app open your profile, switch to the MORE tab, and find MCP ACCESS. The token is shown exactly once; up to 10 active tokens, revocable any time. Requires an active subscription.
2. **Connect Claude Code:**

## Tools

- `ask_magnus`: ask Magnus anything - runs the full assistant with your account context, web search, and connected integrations; uses your plan's SI credits.
- `goals_list` / `goals_add` / `goals_complete`: read, add, and check off goals and tasks.
- `documents_list` / `document_read` / `document_save`: your FILES section - list, read, and save Markdown documents.
- `reminders_list` / `reminder_add`: reminders that fire as push notifications (send ISO 8601 times with a timezone offset).
- `action_approve` / `action_cancel`: anything that writes to the outside world (an email, a post, a calendar event, an issue) is prepared by `ask_magnus` but HELD - its answer says what is ready and gives a token. Show the user what would go out, then call `action_approve` with the token once they agree (single use, 30 minutes), or `action_cancel` to drop it.

## Notes

- Direct tools are instant and free of SI credits; only `ask_magnus` runs the assistant.
- Changes sync live into any open Magnus tab.
- Only a SHA-256 hash of each token is stored; revoke in the profile's MORE tab.
- Rate limits: 120 requests/min, `ask_magnus` 20/min. A paid account is required.
